Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu Movie Review: Chiranjeevi in Vintage Form – A Complete Sankranti Entertainer!
After his re-entry, this might be the film where Megastar Chiranjeevi looks the most natural and relaxed. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu takes a simple family story and fills it with laughter and heartfelt emotions.

It feels like the perfect fit for the Sankranti season – a movie that’s more fun when watched with the entire family in theatres!
What’s the Story?
Shankara Varaprasad (Chiranjeevi) is an intelligence officer who falls in love with the wealthy Shashirekha (Nayanthara) and marries her. But small misunderstandings and ego clashes lead to separation. While their divorce case is ongoing in court, Shankara Varaprasad tries everything to win his wife back. What’s the villain track that comes in between? The director lightly touches on the rising divorce cases in today’s society while beautifully highlighting family values.
Plus Points
This is pure Chiranjeevi magic! His comedy timing, dance moves, and emotional scenes – everything feels vintage. Especially the sequences with kids are a highlight. Nayanthara matches him perfectly with her glamour and charm. Venkatesh’s cameo is superb – the scene where Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh dance to each other’s iconic songs will earn huge whistles in theatres. The first half is super fast-paced with hilarious comedy episodes. Thaman’s songs, especially the folk number before interval, elevate the film on screen!
Minus Points
The story lacks freshness. You have to leave logic aside at times. The villain track feels routine. The second half drags a bit with some repetitive scenes. A stronger climax fight would have added more impact.
Technical Department
Anil Ravipudi once again proves his style – self-deprecating humour and well-crafted comedy episodes stand out. Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is clean and vibrant. Chiranjeevi’s styling and looks are fantastic. Editing is tight in the first half but slightly loose in the second.
Verdict
Overall, Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu is a delightful family entertainer. Chiranjeevi single-handedly carries the film. It’s the best choice to enjoy with family during Sankranti holidays.
